Martin Rowley ‘The Largest UK Bank Robbery’

Event type: u3a Monthly Meeting
Date: Wednesday 11th November 2026
Time: 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
Venue: Dronfield Civic Hall
Organiser:

Martin is a retired businessman with a vivid interest in the history of crime and true stories. His presentation is on the Northern Bank robbery of 2004 in Belfast, when £26.5 million in cash was stolen.

No one has ever been convicted of the crime and only a fraction of the cash recovered, a mere £65,000!

Was it the IRA? Organised crime...? An inside job...? Were the PSNI (Police Service of Northern Ireland) involved...??
