Trips and Visits 2026

Our Trips and Visits (see details below) are open primarily to DDu3a members – spare tickets will be offered to friends of DDu3a members (who must be u3a members somewhere in the UK).

These coach trips are usually run once a month from April to October with a Christmas trip in December. Some include a pre-arranged visit, whilst on others you can choose how you spend your time.

The Trips and Visits team takes members' suggestions and requests into account when planning the annual schedule. Members are also encouraged to provide reviews and feedback on what has been offered to help improve on and/or repeat successful trips.

Costs vary according to the trip destination. Entrance tickets to venues may be included in the cost, or may be in addition to transport costs.

Before booking any trip, please read our Booking Arrangements and Terms and Conditions below.

Please read the following terms and conditions before booking, as they apply to all trips.

  1. DDu3a Members can book 2 months in advance at the relevant Monthly Meeting on a first-come, first-served basis. Any remaining places will again be available to DDu3a members at the following month’s meeting.
  2. After the second Monthly Meeting, any remaining places can be booked by friends who are members of any other u3a in the UK. NB: These members will need to evidence their membership of another u3a by completing the downloadable PDF form below. Hard copies will be available at DDu3a Monthly Meetings.
  3. Payment by cheque is preferred (payable to Dronfield & District u3a). If you need to pay by cash please try and have the correct money. Payment should be placed in an envelope with your name(s), membership number(s) and trip details clearly written on the outside.
  4. Please check that your emergency contact details associated with your membership are correct before travelling as these will be used by the Trips and Visits Coordinator in case of emergency.
  5. Members are responsible for their own personal welfare on trips. You should bring any necessary medication, wear appropriate clothing/footwear, bearing in mind the weather may change during the day. It is also advisable to bring a drink and snack in case we encounter any unexpected delays.
  6. You should also consider your mobility. If you need help getting on/off the coach, walking any distance, please speak to the Trips and Visits Coordinator at the time of booking. If you need to bring a walker, wheelchair or mobility scooter, you must have someone agree to be your carer for the day. If you arrive on the day without an appropriate walking aid/carer, the Trips and Visits Coordinator will have the right to deny you travelling and you will forfeit your payment.
  7. If you find you cannot travel, for any reason, please inform the Trips & Visits Coordinator as soon as possible.
  8. You may personally arrange for another u3a member to take your place or the Trips and Visits Coordinator will contact the next person on the waiting list (if there is one for that particular trip).
  9. If someone is found to take your place, that person will need to pay you directly; but if no replacement is found, you will unfortunately forfeit your payment.
  10. You must advise the Trips and Visits Coordinator of any changes no later than 24 hours before the date of travel.
