Port Sunlight was founded by ‘Soap King’ William Lever in 1888 to create a healthy and beautiful place to live for the workers at the Lever Brothers’ soap factory. Today the village is home to a fascinating museum, beautiful architecture, a world-class art gallery, stunning parkland and a thriving community.
Your ticket will give you access to the Port Sunlight Museum and Worker's Cottage. See how the village has developed over the years, from the working and living conditions to the charming architecture, through film, interactives, models and original artefacts. Step inside 22 King George’s Drive to explore the recreated 1913 home of the Carr family. Filled with original objects, the Worker’s Cottage transports you back in time to when Port Sunlight was still being completed and gives an insight into the life of a typical Sunlight Soap factory worker.
Suggestions of places to eat and drink, can be found here.
