Elizabeth Holloway ‘Life on a Narrowboat’

Event type: u3a Monthly Meeting
Date: Wednesday 8th July 2026
Time: 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
Venue: Dronfield Civic Hall
Organiser:

Over the years, Elizabeth has run small, medium and international-sized charities. She's been a folk singer, writer, personal assistant, and choral singer. She was in her 50s when she and her husband sold their cottage in the Peak District and had a narrowboat built. They travelled the length and breadth of England from Leeds in the north, right down to Bristol floating harbour. They spent several summers cruising the River Thames. Since returning to dry land Elizabeth has been giving a light-hearted talk about some of their adventures.

Elizabeth has shared this PDF with us, previewing her talk in pictures: "Off The Boats".

Tickets will go on sale at this meeting for the trip to the National Holocaust Museum & Newark-on-Trent on 15th October. Any remaining tickets for the trip to the National Memorial Arboretum & Lichfield on 14th September will also be available.
